Calum Ferguson was born in 1931 in the village of Portvoller, in Point, Isle of Lewis. Like many island children of his generation he was born into an island village that was rich on oral history and crofting tradition. This is Calum Ferguson’s own story. Told in his own inimitable way, as story teller he shares his experiences and those of the family and the wider community. His story brings to life the experiences of a generation of islanders and will make you laugh and cry as you read it.
